3rd Post - Kapama Reserve and Walk with the Lions at the Nature Conservancy!

Animal viewing doesn't get much better than this! We spent two nights at Kapama Buffalo Camp, sleeping in luxury tents. Two morning game drives and two in the afternoon gave us wonderful, close encounters with all kinds of animals, including the Big Five! We saw both a leopard and a cheetah.
From Kapama we drove to Polokwane, north of Johannesburg, for a night at the Protea Ranch Hotel & Nature Conservancy. In the afternoon we got to see beautiful adult lions, including several white Kalahari Lions. They are exquisite. We also got to go in an enclosure with 2 young cheetahs. It's quite a sensation to have a cheetah lick your head!!
Sunday morning we did the Walk with the Lions. This is hard to get your head around, but you actually go out in the bush accompanied by 4 lions and several rangers. You can touch their back or tails, but not their head or front shoulders. You have to see it to believe it!
